Miracle Week! Week 28 July 15,2024
Hey yall! Sorry for not sending my email yesterday it was a busy P-Day full of sports with the Elders and I'm sore but anyways, I'll give you a run down as brief as I can!
Had exchanges with the ZLs which included my trainer Elder Mauseth and it was so so good, probably the best exchange I've ever had! We found 2 new people, had Panda Express with Hermano Loza and the Cub Run B Elders which always slaps, then we went to Gilberts corner which is far out on our area Book but decided to go out there anyway and visit a strong member in our branch named Betty, super cool lady! Anyway, it was pouring down rain at about 7 and we called her right outside her house to see if we could come by to share a message and she ended up picking right up and said of course! (Which surprised me cause I wasn't expecting it) anyway, we knock, she let's us in and then this other lady comes in who's her daughter in law from bolivia named frances and sits next to betty and us. Betty started introducing us to her and was telling us that frances has had missionaries come over a lot in bolivia and received some of the lessons but never had the opportunity to get baptized, and betty was saying, "she's ready to be baptized!" And also said that we answered their prayers by coming over cause they were asking that the missionaries would come by for the presentations! Huge miracle! And we had no idea she had a daughter in law from bolivia. So we're just pumped at this point, we taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ, extended a date, and she accepted! We also gave her a copy of the Book of Mormon and they asked us to write our testimonies in it, super cool! We're so happy for her and she came to church yesterday and just seems to be enjoying it all, she'll be baptized on August 3rd!
-We also extended a date to Damaris who's in her early 20s or so who's been baptized before in Venezuela but they had lost her records so now has to be rebaptized, we had a lesson with her family and another family in this complex we can never get into but thank goodness for the Rodriguez family in our ward who are super strong members and helped us out with getting in and having the lesson, fue bueno! 🔥 yesterday Damaris was at church and we extended a date after sacrament for the 23rd of this month, woooo! We're so pumped!
- Our other friend Alberto returned from Perú so we can start visiting him again, woo! He was our most progressing friend at one point and we would read and study the Book of Mormón together but he went to lima for a couple of weeks to visit his brother down there so we had to stop visiting him. But now he's back! We had a pretty fine lesson with him but twas a bit disappointing cause we were asking him if he thought Joseph Smith was truly a prophet and he told us no. It's cause he's been watching these videos on Bible stories and it's good until they start talking about how Joseph Smith wasn't a prophet and only received some gifts, gotta love anti or false information. However, I had an impression after that to go over moronis promise again with him and ask him if these things are true and he said he would, so we're hoping we can rekindle his flame of faith.
- Also we had another fire lesson with our other friend Manuel which lasted like 2 hrs 😄kinda long but twas super good, we clarified a bunch of things and answered his questions, we're hoping he can progress towards baptism!
Anyway sorry for the long email lol, just had a fire week 🔥 probably the best week of my Mish so far! I'm feeling a lot more spiritually in tune with God and Jesus Christ, and it's really refreshing. Hoping this transfer I'll be on my way to Lima for more adventures there! I've loved it here in Virginia though honestly and have loved learning Spanish and how to get better and make other people's lives better. Anyways, Chao!
