Week 23 June 10, 2024. Exchanges with Elder Hanks

Hey yall, back at it again with another email!

Hoping everyone is good wherever you're at Anyway, not too much happened this week but I'll give ya the highlights

-Had exchanges with Elder Hanks this week on Tuesday which was pretty cool cause I got to be in the Sudley area for the day, it was a change of scenery. We had a part member meal breakfast in the morning with the wife being a member but the husband not. They cooked us some fire eggs with hot sauce and made us homemade strawberry shakes, actually fire We taught them the restoration and it was pretty good! There's always power and the Spirit when reciting the First Vision the rest of the day was just having some lessons with friends and doing street contacts and the usual stuff.

-We had stake conference yesterday in the Centreville building and we had an Area Seventy come, Elder Dushku who gave his talk this last general conference on Pillars of Ray, his talk at stake conference was super good! He focused his attention on our faith in Jesus Christ as our Saviour and how vital it is to be in the temple as much as possible and prepare to go to the temple, because that's how we stay closest to the Iron Rod and Jesus Christ, because of our covenants, I loved it! There were other great talks too, very spiritually filled!

- On Saturday, we had a really good day, we found some new friends throughout our day in our áreas, I led my first lesson with one of our friends in Spanish which was really refreshing, we had a member drive by just as we were walking down the street as They were leaving and schedule a visit with them this Wednesday, heaven is definitely in the work when you're being completely obedient and have the Spirit with you! God knew where we were and were going to be and he definitely directed us to those people, so awesome!

Not too much else happened but we are praying for our friend Alberto to progress towards baptism and take that next step on the covenant path, and we are praying for more new and elect friends who need the gospel! Pray for them! Also, we are praying for Miguel that we can meet with him and offer him support during this time in his life cause he's struggling with all sorts of problems.

Spiritual thought

Daniel 6:21-22

"Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.

My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt."

I read Daniel 6 this week in one of my personal studies and had never actually read it. I can't imagine how scary it would be to be thrown into a den of lions because of your faith, but Daniel had faith and was delivered, so powerful! I invite all of you to have faith like Daniel had in God and to take up your own cross and follow the Savior, have faith even when everything may seem wrong, God and Christ will not abandon you!
