Cherry Blossoms! March 18 2024
Hey yall! I didn't write last week, it wasn't too crazy of a week anyway so you haven't missed much.
Spring is here in DC! It's so pretty and all the cherry blossom trees are starting to sprout out. Me and Elder Mauseth have just been riding our bikes this week and it's been beautiful! (: This week was alright I'd say, we had two virtual lessons with Daniel and Ruth who are just people we've found or who we've already taught before, they went great! I've learned that when you're planning lessons they never go to plan haha, but the Spirit definitely takes over in those moments. We ended up just teaching about the restoration and man I'm glad we memorized the First Vision in Spanish at the MTC cause i recited for both lessons, it was great! We invited Daniel to pray about the Book of MormΓ³n and it seemed he was interested so just praying that we can follow up with him.
We had ZL exchanges this week again and I was with Elder Duncan this time and he's a pretty cool guy, we ended up having a little miracle on our way to Elm Farm (super sketchy place btw lol) and there was this guy waiting for the bus and he was all alone on the road we were going down so Elder Duncan and me rode over and we ended up teaching him about the Book of MormΓ³n and gave him one and invited him to church
I bore my testimony in my broken Spanish but the Spirit is always there haha.
I bore my testimony in my broken Spanish but the Spirit is always there haha. We ended up getting to Elm Farm and we were all over the place, we didn't get to teach our lesson with a lady we've talked to before who's inactive but we ended up talking to these 2 Latino guys there who I swear were drugged up on something cause they were so energetic and tweaking out lol, i couldn't really say anything other than just nod my head and say i like tacos haha. There's just a lot of sketchy
Latinos at Elm Farm and it can get creepy lol. It's just a trailer park with woods on the side. We only go there if we have a purpose to be there.
Another thing this week was that Hermanas Asay and Cannon in our district extended a baptismal date to this guy named Jorge and Elder Mauseth was able to give him an interview for baptism on Saturday at the church and he was baptized! Woooo! So that was awesome! I was just sitting out in the foyer the whole time and they're Latino ward was coming in for FHE and I was able to get a lot of one on one spanish conversations, it was actually sick!
Me and Elder Mauseth were able to give some healing blessings this week which was cool cause some are in Spanish and English. Elder mauseth always has the start of the blessing in Spanish on his phone to help us out lol. The priesthood is such a gift and power for us to be able to help and bless others! I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want to bless us so much and they love us so much!
Another thing I remembered this week was that as me and Elder Mauseth were riding our bikes to give a blessing, there was this middle aged lady riding her electric wheel chair n the sidewalk and her battery pack dropped out when i was right there about to pass her, so i stopped immediately and helped pick it up for her, she was grateful and so nice! I found out she was Baptist and she had cancer in her right leg and had to have surgery on it and that's why she was in a wheelchair. So I shared my testimony of Jesus Christ and His Atonement and how He suffered for all our pains and afflictions and she was like Amen cause she believed in Jesus Christ also. She said we were so awesome for being missionaries haha
We left after that and I know that wasn't a coincidence and that she probably needed to hear that or have some encouragement through her trial and probably made her day. I was so happy to be able to help someone like that just as the Savior did, it just makes me want to help as many people as i can and help them come to Jesus Christ and His Gospel. That definitely made my week this week.

Que Bueno!
Que Bueno! Also, I do think my Spanish is getting slightly better which is nice, I can almost understand what people are saying when they're talking to me now, so lesssgooooo!
I hope all yall have been good so far back at home! Here's to a good fresh start to another week in the Mission!

P.S. still kinda suck at taking pics throughout the week but me and Elder Mauseth found this beautiful little fountain area with cherry blossom trees (: DC is so gorgeous! Haha
